I miss storms.
Not driving in them or walking to lunch in them. Not cold and snowy storms on workdays. I miss thunder and lightning storms when you're in bed or nestled on the couch, watching the rain lash the windows. I miss the dark skies just beforehand, and the little bit of excitement as the wind picks up. Counting the seconds between the flash and the loud clap of sound, to figure out just where the storm is.
California doesn't get weather like this. I never thought about it coming out here, but now when I see all my Chicago friends chatting on Facebook about the sky opening up, I feel intensely envious.
Oh well. Sunny weather is nice too . . .
