My Puss in Boots tale is finished (the first draft, anyway). Yay! 275 pages, 142,000 words. I'm pretty happy with it, though it's still pretty rough; there are lots of things that need to be ironed out. I think any time you write a mystery, the first version is never quite as tight on details as it needs to be. The next drafts will get better. But, for now, I'm taking a much-needed breath. I'll probably dive back into one of the other books and start proof-reading that before going back to this one, so I can look at it with fresh eyes.
I had a lot of fun with this, and I hope my betas like it;)
