This may be a dumb question, but did you make that? As a seamstress myself, I totally get the amount of work involved in a piece like that. Mad props to whoever the creator is.

Nope; this is an analysis of Colleen Atwood's costume for Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland", out in March of next year. I'm planning to make a reproduction for next year's comic-con here in Chicago, so I need to start analyzing the original so I can be as accurate as possible.
The white portion of the cuffs appear to indeed have cutouts, but there's a black fabric behind them to make the cutout designs stand out more. My bet is that the upper sleeve/upper bodice fabric is a cool black with a bluish tint, although I suppose it's possible it's a really, really dark midnight blue. Try looking at a playing card and see if it gives you any hints.
I can't wait to see you reproduce this!
Do you know where to purchase the tights, or who makes them?

I love this gown- I am so envious that you even have the ability to make this...
I'm in the planning/purchasing fabric stage of re-creating this dress. I'm really running into problems finding anything like the gold overskirt fabric. If anyone has any ideas on where to find a similar fabric, I'd love to know about it!
