This week's featured site is Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, a fabulous shop based in North Hollywood that creates exotic, beautiful, evocative blended scents from essential oils. And, these are not your grandmother's lavender and rose oil; Black Phoenix uses scents like oakmoss, black pepper, amaretto, red current, and saki beside the more expected florals and woody flavors. The results are always heady and amazing: strong, pure scents that stay with you throughout the day.
They also create scents based on characters in fantasy and fiction; their Neil Gaiman lines are some of my favorites, and they have Alice in Wonderland and Vertigo character collections too, amoung other interesting finds.
I was lucky enough to try several of their scents first hand at C2E2 this weekend, and was not at all disappointed; I walked away with a .5ml bottle of Yvaine, along with a lot of samples;) Stop by, and also visit their sister shop, Black Phoenix Trading Post; you'll thank me (though your wallet probably won't!)

I love BPAL's perfumes! I have so many favourites that it's hard to keep track of them. :-)
