ReVamp!

Oh my goodness. I think I'm in love. In lust, anyway;) I just discovered this shop, ReVamp, and (dangerously) its located not far from me in LA!

Featuring high-quality vintage reproductions from the teens through the '50's, ReVamp will outfit you and your honey for the next swinging party. They also have wedding dresses from each decade, and while thier prices are steep, they are pretty fair for what you get. Take a look at some examples:

If I was a rich girl, I would totally blow a bunch of money in this store! And, they have men's clothing, accessories . . . sigh. I suppose I'd better not pay them a visit;)

Favorite Site Tuesdays: Ped Ped

It's no secret that I love the idea of wall decals; I've featured other sellers on my blog before. I am an unabashed fan of murals and wall decals are the easiest way to do one in a non-permanent way (a must for chronic apartment dwellers like myself!).

I discovered Ped Ped on Etsy not long ago, and fell in love with the minimalistic styles: beautiful tree silhouettes, wall-paper-inspired designs, and lots of color choices. I have little doubt once I move into the new place, I'll be placing a few orders with them.

Which do you think I should order? I'm leaning towards the black and white design for the bathroom, and one of the tree designs for out in the apartment proper.

Visit Ped Ped; I dare you to not start imagining where you could apply these decals in your own place;)

Favorite Site Tuesdays: Mint Conspiracy

This week's favorite shop has a familiar face: Stress Monster! That's vecause I found my Stress Monster in the fabulous Etsy shop: Mint Conspiracy. The creations are the children of Florida plush artist Jill, and each one is truly adorable. I simply couldn't resist;)

Most of the monsters in Jill's shop are fairly large which makes them super-huggable when the rest of the world is just too much, and you need a hot chocolate and a cuddly blanket. Check out Mint Conspiracy; even for the stalwart "adults" amoung us, I guarantee you will want one of these fuzzy creatures;)

Favorite Site Tuesdays: Nut and Bee

This week's favorite site is the lovely work of New Zealand artist Nut and Bee. Her artwork is, in a word, adorabulz. Yes, I had to resort to LOL Cats speak for that;)

I would not have imagined, before now, that tapirs were into 80's breakdancing. You learn something new everyday;)

Why has no one ever thought of this before? This is genius!

I don't know why people are always freaked out by jellyfish, as they are obviously into chocolate chip cookies;)

Check out Nut and Bee, and her adorable prints. She offers stickers, buttons, and other little items with her work too! I can just see my moving boxes adorned with little turtle labels . . . .

Favorite Site Tuesdays: Old Junkyard Boutique

This week's favorite site is on my radar because of my sister's fab Steampunk ensemble from Saturday;) Old Junkyard Boutique is pretty awesome and incredibly reasonably priced to boot; if you're looking for goggles, this is a great place to stop.

Of course, they don't just have goggles; their guns are pretty amazing too!

There are lots of variations on the goggle-theme too; I love the little flashlight attached to the side of these!

Colored (or polarized) lenses are a must. I love the size of these too!

Okay, I want two of these;)

Check out Old Junkyard Boutique before putting together your Steampunk ensemble; you won't be sorry!

Favorite Site Tuesdays: House of Mouse

This week's favorite site is a new discovery: House of Mouse! UK artists (and sisters) Anna and Naomi have taken the relatively simple idea of making cute little felt mice and have elevated that to an art form. These  mice aren't just adorable, they are incredibly detailed; look at the work that went into those Yellow Submarine mice! Their costumes are totally accurate!

I love that they are geeks, too. They have Harry Potter mice, comic book superhero mice, and Indiana Jones mice, along with their own adorable creations.

And, their mice aren't just limited to fictional characters! They have a cute little Charles Darwin too;)

Okay, how cute is that little blaster? Makes me want a tiny Han Solo mouse in carbonite;)

Oh, my goodness, the tiny earrings!

Stop by House of Mouse; their prices are so reasonable that I dare you to leave without buying one;)

Favorite Site Tuesdays: y0omii

This week's favorite site is full of adorable-ness: Y0omii! This cute little Etsy shop is the creation of Toronto-based artist Sherry, who knits tiny, impossibly sweet little animals that I absolutely dare you not to love;)

Oh my gosh, a little owl with a hat. There is something so awesome about this;)

Sherry has a whole series of too-cute mushroom bears, with large heads and skinny little bodies. Yes, I want them all.

She also has a series of monkies that are too adorable for words;)

Head over to y0omii and I dare you not to buy up one (or several!) of her tiny creations;)

Favorite Site Tuesdays: Deadworry

This week's featured site is one of my faves: Deadworry! I have two of their babydoll dresses, and wish I could afford more! Their quirky graphic style mixed with lots of style options make this my go-to place for tees;)

They don't just offer tees, of course: Deadworry has totes, messenger bags, dresses, and lots more, featuring their unique and sorta vintage-y designs. Where else can you find the Octo-owl? or Sir Fancy McRabbit?

The best part? Most items are under $40. These are hand-printed items for less than you would expect, and since they're printed on American Apparel tees, you know they'll be soft and comfy.

Did I mention the underwear? Adorable!

It's not just for chicks either; Deadworry has plenty to offer the hipster guy out there;)

Check out Deadworry; it's possible their items are too cool for me, but I don't care! Any shop that uses an anagram for Edward Gorey in their name is already my favorite;)

Favorite Site Tuesdays: The Enchanted Doll

While I usually try to feature Etsy shops every Tuesday, once in a while I discover an artist whose work so moves and excites me that I have to introduce them to y'all. Marina Bychkova of The Enchanted Doll is just such an artist. I discovered her through my friends over at 666 Photography (another talented woman!), and I have not stopped looking at Marina's work since.

Marina's porcelain dolls start with hand-sculpted forms in super sculpy, and then she casts the porcelain pieces from there. Each doll is unique, hand-painted, and fully articulated with leather-lined joints to protect the movement of the porcelain. But, that's just the beginning of the beautiful artistry of these dolls.

The costumes. Oh my goodness, the costumes. These meticulously researched and heavily beaded and embroidered works of art are that much more incredible for being done on such a small scale. You never think about this unless you make dolls, but finding properly scaled patterns and prints in sometimes impossible. Many of the prints she makes herself.

It's no secret that I love dolls, and I have tried my hand at making them, but I bow to someone who does it so well. Even her nude dolls are incredibly elaborate, life-like creations.

She even handcrafts the headpieces, shoes, jewelry and accessories. If I were a rich girl, I'd own as many of her pieces as possible.

I highly recommend heading over to The Enchanted Doll. You will need to pick your chin up off your desk afterwards, but it is worth it;)
